# API and integrations

## The API

- Create API keys in the dashboard on the **API Keys** page.
- The **Developer Hub** at app.1lookup.io/developer-hub has quickstart
  snippets, an in-browser tester, and integration guides.
- API lookups spend the same credits as dashboard lookups, at the same
  per-product costs (shown on the Billing page in the dashboard).
- For high sustained throughput use the **Bulk API**: submit an array
  of inputs as one job, get a job id, poll progress, fetch results.
  It is far better than looping single requests, and it is the answer
  to most rate-limit problems.

## Integrations

- **n8n**: official 1Lookup node.
- **Make.com**: 1Lookup app.
- **MCP**: 1Lookup has an MCP server, so AI agents and assistants can
  run lookups directly against your account.
- **Zapier**: not yet available.
- The Developer Hub lists everything that is live, with setup guides.

## Common questions

- **Test without paying?** The free tools on 1lookup.io and the 7-day
  trial both work, and the trial covers API testing. The free plan
  (25 credits/month) is for dashboard use; API calls need a trial or
  paid plan.
- **Webhooks?** Two exist today, both signed: number monitoring
  alerts, and Bulk API job-completion webhooks (set webhook_url on the
  job). Tell
  us in the chat what other webhook events you need; requests reach the
  product team.
- **Hitting 429 / rate limits?** Switch to the Bulk API. If you are
  already on bulk at real volume, write to us with your plan and
  numbers: sustained-volume needs are an account-level conversation.
