# SERP scraper: pull search results as structured data

SERP Scraper runs a search query and hands back the results page as structured data instead of raw HTML. A SERP is a search engine results page. Use it to see who ranks for a term, or to feed live results into your own tooling.

## What it tells you

- The query that was run, and how many organic results came back.
- The organic results themselves, each with its position, its title and its link.
- The "people also ask" questions shown alongside the results.
- The related searches listed on the page.

## What you need to provide

One input: the search query you want run.

## What it costs

1 credit per lookup. Live per-product costs are shown on the Billing page in your dashboard.

## How to run it

- In the dashboard: SERP Scraper
- From your code: POST /v1/search-intent-lookup, then see the Developer Hub at app.1lookup.io/developer-hub.

## Good to know

- Results are point-in-time. A results page is rebuilt for every search, so the same query can return a different set of results and a different order later the same day.
- One query per call. To track a set of terms, run one lookup per term and store the results yourself so you can compare them over time.
- The result count tells you when a query came back thin. Check it before assuming something failed on your side.
- Position on one results page says what ranked for that query at that moment. It is not a measure of a site's overall strength, which is what Domain Authority is for.
