The free trial, and the card hold that looks like a charge

How the trial works

  • Every paid plan starts with a 7-day free trial.
  • You pick a plan, save a card, and pay $0 today.
  • When the 7 days end, the plan price is charged and your subscription

starts.

  • Cancel any time during the 7 days under Billing in the dashboard

and you pay nothing.

Seeing a "charge" right after starting the trial?

When your card is saved, your bank places an authorization hold for
the full plan price (for example $99 on Starter). This is a temporary
hold, not a payment:

  • No money has moved. The bank sets the amount aside to confirm the

card is real and can cover the plan.

  • Banks show holds in your pending transactions, which makes a hold look

exactly like a charge in a banking app. Some banks even send a
"you were charged" notification for it.

  • If you cancel, the hold is released automatically. After release,

banks take up to 7 business days to remove it from your statement.
That timing is set by your bank.

  • If your trial converts to a paid subscription, the held amount becomes

your first payment. You are not charged twice.

Still convinced money actually left your account? Ask us in the chat:
we can check the exact state of the hold or charge on your account in
seconds, live from our billing system.

The no-card trial for business emails

We also offer a 7-day Starter trial with no card at all (100
credits) for business email addresses: an address at your company's
own domain. Free providers (gmail, outlook, yahoo, and similar) do not
qualify. Create your account at app.1lookup.io/signup with your work
email, then ask in the chat: if your account qualifies, the trial goes
live and a confirmation email lands in that inbox. One per account.
