DNC check: see if a number is on the Do Not Call list

The DNC check returns the Do Not Call status attached to a phone number, along with the type of phone behind it. Use it to screen numbers before an outbound calling campaign.

What it tells you

• Whether the number carries a Do Not Call flag.
• Whether the number matched a record at all.
• The phone type behind the number, for example mobile.
• The compliance flags attached to that number.

What you need to provide

The phone number you want to scrub, with or without a country code.

What it costs

10 credits per lookup. Live per-product costs are shown on the Billing page in your dashboard.

How to run it

• From your code: POST /v1/phone-scrub, then see the Developer Hub at app.1lookup.io/developer-hub.

Good to know

• This product returns data about a number. What you do with that data, and which rules apply to your calling program, is between you and your own legal counsel.
• Results are point-in-time. Registrations change, so scrub again before each campaign rather than relying on a scrub you ran weeks ago.
• A result with no match means no record was found for that number, which is different from a number that came back clean.
• Spam & Risk Check answers a different question: how a number has been reported by others, rather than whether it carries a Do Not Call flag.
