Reverse email lookup: find the person behind an email address

Reverse Email Lookup takes an email address and returns the name, postal address and phone number on record for it. Use it when an inbound lead, form fill or order gives you an email and nothing else.

What it tells you

  • Whether a person was matched to that email address.
  • The first and last name on record.
  • The street address, city, state and ZIP code on record.
  • The phone number on record, where there is one.
  • The credits used on the call and your remaining balance.

What you need to provide

The email address you want to look up. That is the only required input.

What it costs

10 credits per lookup. Live per-product costs are shown on the Billing page in your dashboard.

How to run it

  • In the dashboard: Reverse Email Lookup
  • From your code: POST /v1/reverse-email-append, then see the Developer Hub at app.1lookup.io/developer-hub.

Good to know

  • Results are point-in-time. People move, change phone numbers and pick up new email addresses, so a match reflects the record as it stood when you ran the lookup.
  • Not every email address maps to a person. A no-match comes back as an explicit no, and it is a normal outcome rather than an error.
  • If you have the name and postal address and want the email instead, use Email Data Append.
  • Names, home addresses and phone numbers are personal data. Use them for legitimate business purposes only.
