Social post lookup: get engagement and caption from a post URL
Paste the link to a post, video or pin and get back who published it and how it performed. Use it to track competitor content, verify an influencer's numbers or log the posts your campaign produced.
What it tells you
- Which platform the post is on, and whether it was found at all.
- The handle and display name of the author.
- Headline engagement: likes and views.
- Deeper engagement: comments and shares.
- The caption text of the post.
- The date and time it was posted.
What you need to provide
The full post, video or pin URL. Supported platforms are Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky, Truth Social, Pinterest and LinkedIn.
What it costs
5 credits per lookup. This one is success-based: you are charged 0 credits on a no-match. Live per-product costs are shown on the Billing page in your dashboard.
How to run it
- In the dashboard: Social Post Lookup
- From your code: POST /v1/social-post-lookup, then see the Developer Hub at app.1lookup.io/developer-hub.
Good to know
- Results are point-in-time. Likes, views, comments and shares keep moving after you run the lookup, so treat every count as a snapshot with a timestamp, not a fixed figure.
- It works on the ten platforms listed above. A link from anywhere else will not resolve.
- If the post cannot be found at that URL, the lookup returns a no match and costs you 0 credits.
- One URL per lookup. To follow a whole account's output, run the posts you care about individually.
- Captions and author names are content published by real people. Use them for legitimate business purposes only.
