Video transcript: get the spoken words from a social video

Turn a social or hosted video into readable text. Use it when you want to search what was said, pull quotes or feed video content into your own analysis without watching every clip.

What it tells you

• Whether a transcript exists for that video.
• The full spoken-word text of the video.
• Which platform the video is hosted on.
• The language the transcript is in.
• How many words the transcript runs to.

What you need to provide

The full video URL. Supported platforms are TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Facebook, LinkedIn and Reddit.

What it costs

5 credits per lookup. This one is success-based: you are charged 0 credits when no transcript is found. Live per-product costs are shown on the Billing page in your dashboard.

Good to know

• Results are point-in-time. The transcript reflects the video as it stands when you run the lookup, so if it is edited, replaced or taken down later, a fresh run can give you something different or nothing at all.
• Not every video has a transcript available. When there is none, the result says so and costs you 0 credits, so it is safe to try a URL you are unsure about.
• It covers the seven platforms listed above. A video hosted anywhere else will not resolve here.
• Transcripts are machine-produced text of speech. Read them as a close record rather than a word-perfect one, especially with names, brands and heavy background noise.
• If you have a direct audio or video file URL rather than a social post link, use Audio Transcription instead. It also gives you speaker labels.
• Transcripts can contain what identifiable people said. Use them for legitimate business purposes only.
